F-150 with EcoBoost wins PickupTrucks.com Fuel Economy Challenge
Yesterday, PickupTrucks.com announced the results of its "Texas Truck Showdown Max MPG" fuel economy challenge. The competition matched up various efficient truck models for head-to-head mileage, payload, and performance tests. Here at Ford of Smithtown, we were excited to see that the 2016 F-150 EcoBoost earned the top spot in the competition. Thanks to an ideal combination of class-leading fuel economy, impressive capability, and performance, F-150 EcoBoost surpassed strong competition from Silverado and Ram 150 EcoDiesel to take the victory.
Mark Williams, editor of PickupTrucks.com, said of the F-150 EcoBoost: “In the end, we were impressed with the F-150 for its capability, fuel efficiency and composure when pushed hard. For a small V-6 engine, it’s very impressive how well it almost eliminates the typical compromises half-ton customers have become accustomed to.”
The F-150 EcoBoost's 2.7-liter engine produces 325 horsepower and 375 pound-feet of torque while delivering best-in-class fuel economy ratings of 19 mpg city, 26 mpg highway and 22 mpg combined.
“We designed Ford F-150 to be a game changer,” said Doug Scott, Ford truck group marketing manager. “We’re proud that customers and third parties recognize the all-new F-150 as the toughest, smartest, most capable and most efficient F-150 ever.”
